Vado (Juan Carlos Noria)
“I live for the process. My work begins with a vision in my mind’s eye and becomes a kind of alchemy—transferring energy into the physical world, one surface at a time. When I’m painting, nothing else exists. The result is secondary. Everything good in my life stems from the process.”
Born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised in Canada, Vado embodies a confluence of cultures and contradictions. A former figure skater, skateboarder, graffiti artist, and live painter, his practice merges movement, rhythm, and rebellion.
Now based in Spain, Vado works from the ground level—immersed in the present, alert to contradiction, quick to laugh, and quicker to respond with a brushstroke or visual comment on our times. Influenced by artists such as Mark Marsters, Pat Thompson, and Dave Cooper, he remains singular: without pretense, driven by process, and alive to the charged space between beauty and subversion.
