Natasha Mazurka
Natasha Mazurka is an artist and educator based in Ottawa. Her research focuses on pattern systems and the potential for design languages to organize and communicate information. Recent projects experiment with pattern, materials, and construction methods as vehicles of beauty within a critical framework focused on social behavior and perceptions of order.
Mazurka has presented solo projects in Canada and internationally in museums, art fairs, and galleries including the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota, Florida; the Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo, Japan; VOLTA Basel, Switzerland; VOLTA NY, New York; and Papier, Montreal, QC. Her work can be found in collections including the State Art Museum of Florida, Sarasota, USA; Canada House, High Commission of Canada, London, UK; the City of Ottawa Art Collection, Ottawa, Canada; the Ottawa Art Gallery, Ottawa, ON; the Canadian Fine Art Collection of Gotland, Sweden; and in private/corporate collections in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Ottawa, and Morocco.
