Dan Sharp
I am a river. My work is an exploration of colour and form, moving between geometric and lyrical abstraction, always rooted in a deep interest in drawing.
My paintings reflect the sensibilities of daily life, with its ordinary rhythms and remarkable moments. I think of them as meditations on experience—layered with symbolic associations, graphic style, and inspirations drawn from specific periods of art history. My practice often engages with both contemporary and historical abstract traditions, functioning as homage while also offering critique and, at times, subversion. Flowing between reverence and reinvention, my work seeks to embody the shifting currents of perception, memory, and meaning.
